About me
My Personal Space – Between Cybersecurity and Music
Welcome to my personal space. I’m Ertan Iliyaz – a cybersecurity professional by day and a passionate musician by heart. I currently serve as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Isbank Kosova, based in Pristina, Kosovo. With over a decade of experience in IT and cybersecurity, especially in the banking sector, I’ve dedicated my career to protecting digital ecosystems and promoting security best practices.
My background is rooted in Computer Technologies and Programming, and throughout my journey, I’ve taken on roles such as System Administrator, Senior IT Auditor, and Cyber Security Manager. My work revolves around cybersecurity governance, risk assessment, and compliance with standards like ISO 27001. I’m especially focused on topics like vulnerability analysis, network scanning, and securing cloud environments.
Beyond the office, I’m actively involved in the Cyber Security Committee of the Kosovo Banking Association and regularly contribute to regional discussions around cyber resilience and financial security.
But there's more to my story.
Music has been my lifelong passion. I started learning piano at the age of seven and graduated from the “Prenk Jakova” music school in Pristina. Over the past 23+ years, I’ve played a variety of instruments – piano, drums, cajon, percussion – and explored genres ranging from Rock and Jazz to Ethno, Latin, and Flamenco.
As a hobby musician, producer, and promoter, I’ve had the joy of collaborating with artists locally and internationally, working to enrich the jazz scene in Kosovo. I believe music builds community, much like cybersecurity builds trust – and I try to bring those values into everything I do.
This space is a reflection of both sides of my journey – the structured world of cybersecurity and the creative freedom of music. Thanks for stopping by.
